The creative powers at CHANEL are following up their recently launched Bombay Express makeup collection — a colorful nod to India’s vibrant and rich palette — with an intriguing video preview of the upcoming Rouge Allure lipstick collection available in September.
Leave it to Peter Philips, creative director of CHANEL Makeup, to give you a mini film, Miroir, Miroir, that showcases the five new lip colors around a mask of crystal and mirrors. Gorgeous Latvian model, Inguna Butane, isn’t actually wearing a mask in the traditional sense. Instead, crystals and mirrors, including the mesmerizing third eye, were individually applied to her face in the span of four hours.
The clear mirrors and crystals are set off by the lushly tinted Rouge Allure colors: Pimpante, Excentrique, Enjouée, Exaltée and Palpitante that range from nearly nude to a classic red and warm orange.
Take a look at the video, and I’d love to know what you think because I suspect many of you will either love it or, well, not. And if you’re prone to motion sickness, consider yourself warned.
