Recently, I found myself with some flowers with broken stems from a big batch of white roses I bought dirt cheap ($3.99 per bunch) at Trader Joe’s. I had some overnight guests coming, so I found a small glass yogurt jar that I brought back from a trip to France (it was my idea of a cute, easy-to-pack souvenir, what can I say?) and added the two short-stemmed roses and a little sprig of fuchsia bougainvillea. I just hated the thought of throwing away those two little broken roses when the flowers were still so pretty. It was perfect on a small shelf in the guest room.
Now, check out this clever milk vase caddy I saw in Olive & Cocoa. My little idea times six.
While, I’d still love this caddy in the guest room, I think it should live in my kitchen. In the meantime, I’m going to keep my eye out for a caddy like this in local flea markets and second-hand shops. I’ll let you know what I find.
